Why not just paste my slides into ChatGPT?

You can, and you’ll get cards quickly. The trouble is checking them. A chatbot can mix in facts from outside your lecture or reword an answer until it no longer matches what your instructor taught, and you won’t know which cards those are until an exam. Your exams test your lecture, so every card should trace back to it.

How do I use any chatbot with Passal?

  1. Upload your lecture to Passal and open More cards with your AI.
  2. Copy the prompt Passal gives you into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or any chatbot.
  3. Paste the reply back into Passal. Passal keeps only the cards it can match to your slides and tells you how many it left out, and why.

No setup and no extra account. The prompt contains the lecture’s text, so your AI provider sees it under your account with them.

Can I connect Claude or ChatGPT to Passal?

Yes. Connect Passal once and then just ask your assistant for cards from a lecture; it reads the lecture from Passal and sends the cards back, and Passal checks each one against your slides.

Do I need my own AI to use Passal?

No. Passal makes flashcards and quiz questions from your lecture on its own. Your AI is an optional way to get more cards, and Passal doesn’t charge for it: it uses the assistant you already have.

Does Passal train AI on my lectures?

No. Passal doesn’t use your files to train AI. When you use your own AI, that provider handles the lecture text under your account and their terms.
