Passal

About Passal.

Passal is a study app built for med school. It helps you turn your own course lectures into cards you can check, then gives those cards a spaced-repetition review schedule.

Who is Passal for?

Passal is for medical, nursing, PA, pharmacy and other health-science students studying the material taught in their own courses. Start with a lecture from your class, then practice it alongside your syllabus, instructor guidance and other study resources.

For the complete workflow, read the study tools guide or see how to turn lecture slides into flashcards.

What does Passal do with a lecture?

  1. Read the material you upload. Use a text-based PDF, PowerPoint (.pptx), plain text or Markdown. A recorded lecture needs a transcript.
  2. Make drafts you can inspect. Passal creates flashcards from the lecture, plus quiz questions when the lecture supports them. Each card it makes shows the source line and links to that spot; a draft it cannot match to the lecture is left out.
  3. Keep your review set under your control. Inspect the drafts, edit or delete them, and keep the cards you want to review.
  4. Come back to the cards. Review with spaced repetition and use Progress and Recovery to see what you have tried and what still needs a later recall.

What does source checking establish?

A matching quote shows what your lecture said and lets you check a card against it. It does not establish that the lecture is medically correct, current or complete. Product documentation describes the study workflow; it is not medical review.

Generated cards and progress figures are not proof that every course objective is covered, that you are ready for an exam, or that you will receive a particular grade. Use the source material and your instructors to decide what belongs in your study plan.
